Connectrix DS-7730B 64G FC SAN Switch

Overview

The Connectrix DS-7730B is a 64 Gb/s, 2U high-density Fibre Channel SAN switch that lets dense rackmount environments connect more devices and build larger fabrics. With 128 x 64G ports and 16 SFP-DD transceivers, organisations can create high-scale fabrics in less space, expanding from 48 to 128 ports with Ports on Demand. A 50% latency reduction against the previous generation and no oversubscription enable maximum performance from NVMe storage and high-transaction workloads.

Port Configuration

• Form factor: 2U, installable in a standard 19-inch EIA rack
• Fibre Channel ports: DS-7730B: minimum of 48 ports and maximum of 128 ports. Ports are enabled in increments of 24 ports up to 128 via Ports on Demand (PoD) licences; E_Ports, F_Ports, D_Ports and EX_Ports
• Ports on Demand: 48 ports enabled base, scalable to 128 via 24-port SFP+ PODs and a 32-port SFP-DD POD in any order or combination
• Detail: The DS-7730B utilises 96 x 64G SFP+ ports and 16 x 2x64G double-density optical transceiver (SFP-DD) ports. Each of the 16 SFP-DD transceivers provides 2 ports, making 32 ports available for device or ISL connectivity, for a total of 128 ports in a 2U design. The base configuration comes with 48 ports enabled; to scale to 128 ports, additional 24-port SFP+ PODs and a 32-port SFP-DD POD can be installed in any order and combination
